Why and how we use your IP

We use your IP Address according to our Privacy Policy, that we encourage you to read if you haven't already.

In a few words, we use your IP Address for 2 purposes, that are basically related to security:
1. In order to better encrypt your Signature;
2. In order to verify the location from where you signed the Document.

Explanation:
1. The IP Address is one of the elements that we need to encrypt an unique key. You can learn more about Signatures from this file, and find out how we encrypt and process them. Also, if you haven't already, you can check our Privacy Policy.

2. The Documents that need your Signature, have, and will produce legal effects, so we need to be sure that everything is okay and nobody agreed or signed a Document in your name, without you knowing or without your consent.

Sometimes, there are cases when we might contact you just to verify a Signature. We promise not to bother you without a good reason.
Basically, we will use the IP Address of the device used to sign a Document to determine the exact location from where the Document was signed. If that location is different from the address that we have for Your Company or the location where Your Company is established, we receive a notification from our system that we should verify the authenticity of the signature and to make sure that it was really you the one who took the action.
We know that you might use a VPN or travel and sign a Document on the go, out of your office (That's one of the advantages for using daRwin 😃), so we'll try our best to improve the algorithm that verifies the location.
